NASSCOM: NASSCOM was set up in 1988, at Mumbai to facilitate business and trade in software and services and to encourage advancement of research in software technology. It is the premier trade body and the chamber of commerce of the IT-BPO industries in India. NASSCOM is a global trade body with more than 1200 members, which include both Indian and multinational companies that have a presence in India. NASSCOM's member and associate member companies are broadly in the business of software development, software services, software products, consulting services, BPO services, e-commerce & web services, engineering services offshoring and animation and gaming. NASSCOM’s membership base constitutes over 95% of the industry revenues in India and employs over 2.24 million professionals.
MAIT : Set up in 1982 for purposes of scientific, educational and IT Industry promotion, MAIT has emerged as an effective, influential and dynamic organisation. ESC : Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), sponsored by the Government of India is India’s largest Electronics and IT trade facilitation organization
Computer Society of India (CSI) : Computer Society of India has implemented concept of focused groups to promote reserach and activities in specific areas. In this regard it has established a Special Interest Group on e-Governance (SIGeGov)

Indian Association for Medical Informatics (IAMI): is a non-government, professional organization, started at Hyderabad in 1993 with the help of scientists and doctors who had perceived a need to sensitize the Indian Medical community to the benefits of IT, bring about awareness and greater utilization of Information Technology (IT) in healthcare facilities across the length and breadth of India. The association is now almost 500 strong with its members being mostly IT savvy doctors, software professionals, students and biomedical engineers
